Accrotool Enhances Production Processes
New Kensington, PA, February 9, 2011
Under the leadership of President and COO Buck Helfferich, Accrotool, a full-service contract manufacturer of engineered metal products used in a wide range of applications, has taken several steps to upgrade its manufacturing operations. Most significantly, the company is adding 120,000 square feet to its 100,000 square-foot facility. Though a strategic alliance with MTEC, a Jeannette, PA-based firm, Accrotool's New Kensington facility is now able to silk-screen images on, or affix decals to, its products, accelerating order fulfillment and streamlining logistics. The company has also added flat-screen television panels throughout the facility so production teams can have real-time access to all job schedules. Accrotool is among the first contract manufacturers to integrate video technology with its production line. This improvement is expected to increase productivity by 30 percent and accelerate on-time deliveries.
“These developments are increasing our competitiveness in a marketplace that is more dynamic than ever,” says William F. Phillips, Sr., Accrotool's chairman and CEO. “Buck's experience and success in technology-based product development puts us in a strong position to continue serving our core markets, and to cultivate opportunities in new sectors.”
“I am pleased to be a part of a company that has a strong track record and is making significant capital investments to promote long-term growth,” says Mr. Helfferich, who has 30 years of experience in the field of contract manufacturing. “I look forward to helping Accrotool transform itself from a run-of-the-mill machine shop to a strategic partner of customers and suppliers that continually exceeds expectations.”
